Salvation: deliverance from sin and its consequences, to be brought about by faith in Christ.
I have not been a follower of Christ for very long. As a young kid, I did not grow up Christian nor ever attend a church, except for a few times growing up. I did not have any Christian influence in my life. I may have had someone try and speak into my life but I do not remember a time of anyone sharing the Gospel with me ( I was pretty hard-headed). My family had little Christian influence in our lives.
Not until I was in my mid 30’s did I really begin asking questions and looking for answers to whether God was real or not. Before God saved me, I felt as if I was missing something or someone in my life but I always thought it was just who I was. I assumed I would always feel incomplete and that would never really change. I was wrong and Jesus Christ has changed my life completely. I have grown immensely over the last several years and it’s all because of Him. Filling the hole in my life with anything but Jesus, never worked. Trying to live a life without Jesus is like trying to hold water in a strainer. It will never be full.
I want to make certain you are awake to the love of Jesus Christ and stand on a firm foundation to just what it means to be a Christian. I can assure you that faith is not blind belief and trusting in Christ will change your life forever. You cannot borrow someone’s faith nor buy your way into heaven. The only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. Placing faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the only way to receive God’s free gift of salvation.
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (Heb. 10:19–22).
Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, you have direct access to God the Father. Your sins have been forgiven and no one stands between you and God. God has given us a clear path to Him. He has given us salvation. We are called to a higher standard, one that calls the Christian from the hedges to the front line. May God be with you.
