Pathways Youth

Pathways serves the youth by equipping them to develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a follower of Christ. Statistics tell us that young followers are walking away from their Christian faith as they begin interacting with the world in college and early adulthood. What we don’t see in those same statistics is why that happens. We must turn our attention to the Parable of the Sower in Luke 8: 4-8 to better understand the why.

Jesus speaking to a large crowd shares a parable of a farmer sowing seeds in four different types of soil. Only one type of soil (heart) allowed the seed to grow and yield a hundredfold. It was the “good soil”. The soil that was fertile, tilled, weed free, and stone free that allowed the seed (God’s Word) to take root and grow to its fullest potential. Young people are not walking away from their faith because they never walked into it to begin with.

In our youth program we want to prepare the hearts of our students to accept the truth of God’s word and help them be all that He calls them to be. We do this by meeting them where they are and journeying alongside them. This year’s theme for our youth program is be BOLD.

be BOLD: The willingness to seek the truth and have the courage to live it out.

We meet for leadership, discipleship, and fellowship Sunday evenings from 5:30 until 7:00 at the church. Come join us!
