A Global Connection to Haiti
Started in the Spring of 2013 as a jobs program, Mowi Beads provides employment for men and women to support and care for themselves and their children in Montrouis, Haiti. Mowi Beads are paper beads made from recycled magazine paper. The beads are collected and graded weekly, and beaders are paid monthly. The beads are sent to the United States where the jewelry is made and sold. The proceeds are used to buy more beads and the profit goes entirely to the beadmakers to help them pay their rent and afford the necessities of daily living. There are now 25 men and women in the program, as well as a Haitian chaplain and instructor. Our mission is to show God’s love by providing employment for Haitians in desperate need. We pray that meeting physical needs will provide an open door for the Gospel.
Reach the World, Through Atlanta
Envision Atlanta is a response to the migration of peoples to Atlanta from all around the world. There are over 700 people groups represented in the Metro Atlanta area. Many are from unreached people groups and still more are from countries where our C&MA missionaries can’t go. Our site is located in Clarkston, GA on the East side of Atlanta. Hundreds of refugees from all over the world are placed in Clarkston each year. It is common place to see people walking down the streets in clothing traditional to their native countries and ethnic food is easy to find. English is rarely the first language spoken by most of the residents of Clarkston. Dan and Angela Kirk are ministering to refugees through English classes, children and youth programs, and evangelism. They have five children, Andrew, Abby, Anna, Aaron, and Ava Grace.

They are also learning the culture of this people group and praying for opportunities to be salt and light in their community. After completing language study, field leadership will determine where their specific ministry focus will be. Teammates are involved in university ministries, medical clinics, vocational training centers for young men and women, and small group Bible studies. Michael and Valerie have five children, Ezekiel, Isaiah, David, Timothy, and Benjamin.
